Operation Opie is our canine bite prevention education program named after Opie Jack Russell Terrier (pictured left).

Every year hundreds of thousands of children are bitten by dogs. Many dog bites are preventable just by educating children about basic canine safety. Operation Opie is a short, flexible program that uses simple language to teach children how to be safe around dogs. Children first learn a simple mnemonic and then get to practice their new skills on our trained therapy dogs. The program can be tailored by age and can last from half an hour to an hour. We've presented Operation Opie to scout groups, schools, and youth facilities, as well as at birthday parties and other private gatherings. We'd love to present Operation Opie to your group!
